The world is beginning to crack. Lucas will hold it together—or die trying.

The omen's demise is itself an omen of times to come. The king, long constrained by the goddess' rules, finally has the chance to exercise his power over the world. Lucas soon realizes that those ambitions don't just stop at one world.

As reality crumbles apart around them, the king enacts his plan, and the goddess meddles as she pleases, it will take everything Centerpoint has to even survive, let alone win. Victory is a process, and Lucas will ensure that humanity lives to see it complete.

No matter what it takes.

The ending was amazing the whole book was incredibly written and I can relate to some struggles of the characters I loved the first two books too

I liked the first two books, but this one took such a left turn from what that was, and what I was expecting from this series as a whole. I did not appreciate how it changed, and it did not feel like the same story anymore.

As a stand alone book, it was great, well written and resolves nicely, as a sequel it makes me so mad and breaks its own established world building. Baldness is perfect as always.

Spoiler warning.

Now. Here comes the negative review half: its a god awful sequel to the first two books. it feels like the author got bored and decided to cram the last two books into one and broke their own world building. Which, the writing being good makes all the more irritating. this book starts very shortly after the last book ends, which was an excellent bittersweet ending with triumph and loss and all the good stuff. priestess proceeds to drop the bomb that the Goddess has been unstable for a while, which has never been shown before, and then the goddess proceeds to decide she's bored with everything and starts actively fucking all the heroes over. Like literally goes from one of the only good depictions of a relatively benevolent god that I've seen to the standard shit god who is petulant and tries to break her own game for "entertainment".
This whole book takes a goddess who previously was watching possibly dozens of worlds doing interesting things and makes her (for no apparent reason) suddenly only care about this one world to the point where she will break it because its "boring". The tonal whiplash was terrible and soured the entire book because its so completely out of no where and makes no sense with anything stated or shown in the previous 2 books. hence why I say its a good book and a terrible sequel. thats

Great book, awful sequel.

Everything has moved way too quickly, both in this book and the last. I'm disappointed that the plot went straight from helping out a low level adventuring party to fighting multiple extinction level threats. None of the character deaths mattered because there was no time spent becoming attached to them. It's not a terrible story, just a lot of wasted potential that leaves you feeling whiplashed frequently

It's not bad, but...
