The apocalypse is coming, but only a lucky—or perhaps unlucky—few know.

Silas is inducted into the System, becoming the last in a long line of Earth's "forerunners." The rewards are great, but the danger is greater. We are not alone in the universe. The fate of five worlds hangs on how their forerunners perform.

Will Silas have what it takes to win Earth a place in the multiverse? Or will Earth become another mining world stripped of all resources and left a barren husk floating in the cosmos?

A system-enforced secret, a deadly challenge, and only a year to go. The countdown begins now!

Of course Travis killed it as usual no surprise to anyone there. It may be because he is the narrator but this book reminded me of the unbound series. I felt like this was a good new entry to Litrpg.

MC has some issues and you will question some of his decision making. At the same time I also think for the most part he is a good MC. Character development is in the works.

World and system building were done well with some details left a little fuzzy for me. The overall story does interest me and the timing of the MCs start leaves so much future for this series.

An enjoyable listen

I enjoyed this book and would recommend it to anyone that enjoy's the genre. Nothing ground breaking, but it is entertaining.

Not amazing, but worth the listen

Overall I enjoyed the book and I already purchased the second in the series. The story is pretty good so far, with lots of promise to get better. There are times were things get suddenly very descriptive at random and it doesn't seem to flow as well as it could. It almost feels like the base story was written and then these descriptors were added in after the fact.

Not a bad read

story is great and a fun blend of HWFWM and DCC in my opinion. But man Travis B takes the story to a new level.

Travis B is the best narrator ever for always!

A true “story” with character dev. The race/battle scene alone is worth the credit. Shades of Kobayashi Maru, with extended engagement.

Exquisite battle scene
