Stuck with arrows and close to death, a man is pulled from the icy waters of the Gulf of Nahl. Winter, a seemingly quiet young fisherman's daughter, harbors a secret addiction that threatens to destroy her. A young priestess, Cinzia, must face a long journey home to protect her church from rebellion. A rebellion sparked by her sister. Three characters on different paths will be brought together by fate on one thrilling and perilous adventure.

What did you like best about this story?

This is a strong fantasy series - complex-but-still-human (and elfish!) characters, compelling plot, great finish. I look forward to continuing the series!

Have you listened to any of Adam Verner’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

The only thing that bugs me about the narration is the weird Irish/Swedish accent for 2 of the main characters, but after time I got used to it.

Great new fantasy series

I'm a huge Brandon Sanderson fan. I listened to an earlier work and could tell he wasn't quite as polished, as I expected. I expected the same with Duskfall, but this book does not have that feel. Chris Husberg has achieved excellence with his first book. I loved ALL of it. Great content and great narration. I'm truly pleasantly amazed!!

Awesome!!!

The story is a solid one. It is as much character driven as it is plot driven. Neither character motivations nor fighting sequences seem weird or forced, as happens in some novels.

The performance was not what I expected. It was delivered like a storytelling piece. The delivery was smooth, but engaging. Obviously, not Mr. Verner's first rodeo.

A good story

I enjoyed this more than I expected. It is a powerful debut for a new author. Great characters, strong plot, and vivid writing makes this an entertaining book.

Great start to new epic fantasy

I'm normally not very into classic-esque fantasy books, but this one was pretty darn good. can't wait to start on the next one. I really want more background for Astrid, and for Winter to shut up for once.
