I read this book years ago when it was published but with the release of the third book last year, I wanted to reread The Swan House and The Dwelling Place. I loved this beautiful story of forgiveness and redemption. The audio book was well done and did the story justice. Elizabeth Musser is a master storyteller. I have loved all of her books I have read and look forward to each new one. I highly suggest you read The Swan House, The Dwelling Place, and The Promised Land.

Beautiful story!

This was a good follow up to The Swan House. It took awhile for me to like the main character, but once I did, I couldn’t quit listening. Simple, sweet, redeeming, but good heavens, we don’t really drink THAT much Coke in Atlanta!

Good follow up

This is a great second book in the trilogy and I am looking forward to the third one.

Wonderful novel about family and forgiveness, mixed together with love and friendship.

Elizabeth Musser is an incredible storyteller. The Swan House, the sequel to this book, captured my attention to the author with a wonderful story of Atlanta in the 60’s. This continuation of that story set many years later draws you into the confusion and rebellion of the daughter. A beautiful story of struggle, anger and rebellion and its effect on the main character and her family is identifiable by all of us one way or another. You won’t want to miss the blessing of seeing this family’s faith and unconditional love as Ellie resists but then surrenders.

An unforgettable book
