Sarah's Vow: A Scottish Time Travel Romance

As time travel romances go, this one was pleasant. The audiobook narrated by Lisa Ivary was well done, creating the pull to continue listening to the story until the end.

Entertaining but cheesy

The story was entertaining but really cheesy and overly dramatic. I wouldn’t have continued to listen to this book, but it occupied the time sitting in traffic.

Over-dramatic narration almost ruined it

The out-of-breath, overly dramatic narration and the gratuitous sex almost ruins this series. The stories are 4-star for me, but the narration drops it to 3 stars.

Narrator hurt the story

The narrator was a bit over-dramatic for me and took away from the story. Sad because it’s a good plot with interesting characters that lay the foundation for the future books. There are also several inconsistencies with the era. For example, I found it unrealistic that some of the workers couldn’t afford to pay for health care for their family members. The hero called her his “Siren” which I don’t believe was a word used back then. In my opinion the author wrote it in line with today’s culture rather than its historical context.
