After Claire McEvoy’s first attempt at love was shattered by devastating violence, she built walls, barriers, and obstacles to protect herself from everyone, including her family. She learned to cope by devoting her entire life to taking care of everyone else’s needs and happiness.

Jackson Alexander knows all of the past ugliness that occurred, and although he has loved Claire since she was 15 years old, he always settled for the friendship that she offered. Now, 23 years later, he is back and getting the chance he always desired.

Claire still finds it impossible to let any man into her life, but he won’t be deterred. This time, he is not letting her push him away. Even if it means getting a flag on the play for encroachment, Claire will ultimately be his.

This book was an improvement over the first book but not by much. I found that this author tends to repeat things over and over and use the same words over and over. It gets to the point that it's irritating.
I really liked Jackson in this book but I didn't really connect with Claire. I didn't really feel a connection between the two main characters either just like in the first book. I just feel like Jackson came into Claire's life and starts telling her what to do like he has a right to. Maybe he does but we don't get to see that part. We're only told about it which makes it seem not so. I just really think the books in this series could have been written better.

The narration was good but I think it could use some editing. There are a few repeat sentences and some places where it seems like the narrator tried the word or sentence over.

I was given a copy of this book by the narrator.

the second book in the series no repeat. often authors fall into like copy paste with different names this doesn't. good story even if I wanted to kill her father who is dead.
lot of feelings and the past touches you. very strong characters.
The narrator is good and gives the characters and the story life.

well done

Book 2 Encroachment was another great story by author Monica De Simone. Claire suffered a traumatic event when she was in her teens. That has made her a strong and closed off to the outside world with the exception of her sister and daughter. Jackson had feelings for Claire when they were young and always felt protective of her. Both of them have been brought back together. The Narrator also did a great job with the characters.

Great story! I loved the dynamic between Claire and Jackson. I know it is a Trilogy but felt unfinished. The performance was wonderful I felt connected to the characters through the speakers voice. All in all a good job!

A good continuance.

I enjoyed this 2nd in the series but still had some issues with the quality. There are quite a few spots that 3-5 words are halted and repeated before continuing which is annoying when you're in the flow of the story and it starts repeating itself. I would definitely listen/read another of Monica DeSimone's books. She does a great job with the characters and building the plot.
