From USA Today bestselling author Robert Swartwood comes Enemy of the State, the propulsive, thrilling, and much anticipated follow-up to The Killing Room

The world believed Daniel Burke was dead.

At least, the few people in the government who knew he existed did. Once part of an elite black op team, Burke faked his death so he could avenge his brother. Now that those responsible have been brought to justice, he plans to leave the country and start a new life.

But before Burke can even get on the plane, his old team has tracked him down.

The CIA believes Daniel Burke is a traitor—an enemy of the state—who must answer for his crimes. But others in government simply want him dead.

Knowing he’s been set up, Burke is the only one who can track down and expose the real traitor—before it’s too late.

Overall enjoyed the book but I find the use of “ it’s complicated” and “it’s a long story “ as answers to questions posed in books annoying. It seems to me the author could actually flesh out the story. If the intent is to develop intrigue then they missed the mark.

Subject matter held my interest

Fast paced and was drawn on the first page so to speak. Could not put it down or pause in this case. Author did a great job in refreshing my memory of details from book one. Could be enjoyed as a stand alone but why would you when book one is equally as good. If you like The Gray Man series, this series is for you.

I loved the first book and now the second. What's not to love about Edoardo Ballerini's silky masculine (in a good way) voice? He could read, I don't know, the Webster's dictionary or something and I'd be enthralled.

I loved the wonderful and exciting plot and especially the way the author weaves the first book's plot seamlessly into the sequel.

Excellent use of the first person POV of the main character. And the supporting characters were so well defined as well as the love interest. Which, by the way, I am looking forward to more of that in the third book.

So please, Mr. Swartwood, hurry up and write the third book!

Excellent Sequel

I am hoping, with confidence, that there will be another book. There is so much more to explore! I have enjoyed listening. Edoardo Ballerini gives a great performance!! The story being great is a double bonus!!!!

A really great sequel!

It was really good but the ultimate bad guy was pretty predictable. Still really good

First one was better but this was action packed
