It was my first day as a brand new high school teacher. But I got dumped that morning. Via text. And then one of my students hit on me. And the rest of the day was a complete mess. The beautifully single Mr. Drake McCain found me in my classroom, feeling sorry for myself. And not sixty seconds later he had me laughing and electricity racing through my blood.

My family is broken and complicated. I literally don't know my biological father's name. My mother is absent and my half-brother barely knows who she is. But Drake? He's not complicated. He's sweet and kind and insanely adorable, and comes from a wonderful family. He is everything I want.

The chemistry between us? It's there in spades. I keep telling myself that I should be feeling really awful and depressed since I just got dumped a few days ago. But I keep getting this ridiculous smile on my face every time Drake is around and it's kind of hard to keep telling myself that.

A Sweet Love Story

This story wasn't what I expected when I picked it up -- it's sweeter than I thought, but the author did an admirable job of drawing in the reader and throwing in the unexpected. They fall in love quickly, but that's where the trouble and heartbreak begin. I was definitely rooting for their well-deserved HEA.

Have tissues handy

I discovered this story through Audible Escape, I put in inspirational, because I prefer Christian based romance. The author kept the story to PG13, and it was an overall good story without any sex scenes, but the author does bring the reader just to the edge.
The reason for the tissues is because of some events (I will not be a spoiler). My eyes began to burn with tears, and I had to grab the tissues!
The book also has some suspense moments (without any criminal stuff). A few of the moments completely surprised me, however I was able to correctly identify what the next scenes revealed.

I was so annoyed with the narrator

Barely made it 5 minutes with the narrator, will not finish this series of books.

Insta Love. Blah.

Any additional comments?

Sweet Story. Could be good I guess. But it's insta love, which I hate. And random angst that isn't needed, the characters are likeable, but there isn't really romance. I may have been able to finish it without the insta love and needless angst... but since that is the majority of the story I couldn't finish it.
