Sweet Story

Book is definitely worth a listen. It’s an easy listen. I originally didn’t realize this was CoHo’s first book. For a very first novel, I was impressed. Not my favorite of hers, but still good. I really loved the poetry element of it. The only thing I didn’t like, was that some of the things in this book seemed particularly unrealistic. Obviously that’s the case with a lot of romance novels, but there was a couple of things in particular I was irritated by.

(SPOILER) First, the young boys reaction to the cancer. It seemed quite a bit off. Like he was way too “ok” with it. Especially the whole Halloween costume situation. That kind of icked me out. Second the relationship between Will and Layken initially gave me Aria and Ezra from Pretty Little Liars vibes. I know she was 18, but still, it felt far fetched. But I did like watching it develop and that it eventually turned into something really sweet.

Unexpected from CH.

It's a endearing predictable YA rom-dram. I kept waiting for the "Colleen Hoover Gotcha twist" but it never arrived. Nevertheless, I was engaged and enjoyed the book.

Truly enjoyed yet another one of Coleen Hoover’s books. Working my way through them all.

Poetry of life

Really enjoyed this book. This is the first book I have read by this author. Loved it!
