When Tate Collins moves in with her brother, the last thing she expects is to collide with Miles Archer, a brooding pilot with an unrelenting grip on his past. Their attraction is electric, undeniable, and all-consuming—but Miles has rules. No questions. No future. A no-strings arrangement seems simple at first, but a deep, shattering truth lurks just beneath the surface.
Tate soon realizes that Miles is not just guarded but fractured. Torn between desire and self-destruction, his pain bleeds into every part of their dynamic. Miles’s past hides horrors that threaten to rip apart the fragile connection they’ve created, and Tate is forced to make a choice that will change both their lives forever.
With suspense simmering underneath every moment of passion, Ugly Love is a whirlwind of lust, heartbreak, and dark revelations that build to a stunning crescendo. For those drawn to the raw tension and psychological complexities of Verity, this is a riveting story where emotions erupt, secrets fester, and love may not be enough to heal the deep scars etched into the past.

How do you review one of your most favorite books? I have read, and or listened to this book a total of 7 times. Yep 7.. And I still don’t have the words to describe why this book is a must read or why I like it as much as I do.
Maybe it’s the fact I can see young Miles and Rachael in myself. That total feeling of being terrified out of your brain but willing to do anything to make it work. No matter how hard you know it’s going to be.
Thank god my outcome wasn't like theirs.
Maybe I can see the utter devastation in an older Miles and I can’t help but feel all the feels for him?
Maybe I like this book so much because Tate is the healer without knowing she is? I don’t know, but what I can tell you is that, I will read this book again and again. And I will find new things liked and didn't like about this book.
Cap is a favorite of mine; his advice was sweet and kind. And his one line about not being able to give advice because in order to give advice he better know what the heck he was talking about, just got me in the heart. Everyone needs a Cap in their lives.
I will end this review with a favorite quote of mine.
Tate to Cap, and Cap to Tate.
“What do you think would make a man never want to experience love again?”
“I suppose if a man lived through the ugliest side of love, he might never want to experience it again.”
*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.*

If you could sum up Ugly Love in three words, what would they be?
Tragic, Hopeful, and Healing! What other book might you compare Ugly Love to and why?
There are many romances out there...this is a good one...based on a tragedy...Which scene was your favorite?
When Miles finally went and visited Rachel....Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I did!Any additional comments?
** Some Spoilers **This is the second baby related Tragedy I have listened too in the last 7 days...and I know it rips most peoples hearts out....Mine already has been ripped out...so that is not what gets me...I have experienced this...and no matter how it happens...and it happens HORRIBLY in this story...its the way people recover that gets to me...I know MIles was hurting...but he handled his grief so badly....I feel so much for him...you can not tell someone how to grieve...but he really did put himself and Tate through sheer torture...I was so proud of him when he finally visited Rachel and saw her happy...he could finally let go...Miles is a rare one...he was set to be a provider, husband and daddy from the get go...and when it was taken from him so abruptly it basically shattered his young soul!
Tate was smart..she knew she couldn't take much more, so she let him go..even though it was painful as heck for her, she knew this was something he had to figure out on his own..he would not let her in...so she backed off...This is a true example of loving something and setting it free...becauses it did come back to her and was meant to be hers!
Oh and Thank Goodness for Cap...HE WAS AWESOME!!!
I want authors to stop writing their characters so young...24yrs old is a baby to me...would it hurt you to write people in the 30s-40s every now and then..I mean KA does it...and her books fly off the shelves...to me this would have been a more believable story with older characters...but I understand...the whole first love..forbidden..and heartache aspect of the story..Overall it was a good one...it kept me engaged...I only shed a handful of tears...and they were more for happiness because Tate got her man...and she helped him heal...
Female Narration Was Great...Male Narration, just ok...he came across as creepy some of the time..and we needed more broody and alpha!
NIce Book club listen...I am interested in more from CH..she did keep me up till 6am!! lol
