Faith

“Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. For by it the people of old received their commendation. By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible”—Hebrews 11:1-3.
The part that reads “the universe was created by the word of God…” causes me to reflect on my own beliefs about faith and science. I have never thought that there is a conflict between the two. To me, I don’t think we know everything there is to know about science and the way the universe works. We continue to learn day by day about those things. And because we lack a complete understanding of science, we proceed by faith. For there is much to learn about what we cannot see.
