Kierkegaard discusses Genesis 22:1-18, the story of Abraham's willingness to sacrifice his son Isaac. He notes that Abraham was all willing to sacrifice his son in the name of god, without tears or complaint; he simply obeyed. He argues that faith requires passion - something that Abraham clearly had and that you must experience it yourself or you could never truly understand.

I like the narrator, but not for this category of books, otherwise it's great

I like the the narrator, but

Really interesting to think about, and I didn't think the presentation was distracting at all. Some people seem to feel that way - so maybe just listen to the sample before buying to see if it bugs you or not. Was fine for me.

There are plenty of good concepts and ideas in this short work, but the narration stands in the way. The reading pace and style makes this very difficult to enjoy.

Good content, poor delivery

This reading was completely rushed, and without *any* sort of normal pacing or pause that aligns with the text. The reader either didn't understand the book, didn't care, or both. Very negative impact to the experience and ability to understand an otherwise thoughtful book.

Save your money. Read the book.

this is just the introduction. the narrator also fails to convey Kierkegaard's emotion, or sarcasm. this is a passionate work, but it's just not in the performance
