Engrossing Story

This was my first experience with this author's work. My attention was grabbed from the opening paragraphs until the end of the story. I rode an emotional roller coaster as I followed the tangled stories of the three women and their families featured in this thought-provoking and heart-breaking tale. The characters were realistic and memorable. I was amazed at the combined skills of the five narrators: Susanna Burney, Lyssa Browne, Amy McFadden, Meg Savlov, Galen Osier. Their combined performances enhanced the appeal and pathos of the story. I was given a copy of the audiobook. I volunteered, without financial gain, to post this review which reflected my honest opinions regarding this audiobook.

What shocked me most was my personal fear about what might happen and what actually did

I loved the deep openness of the characters emotions. It helps to feel like you are not alone in your struggles of understanding teen emotions

Captivating book

Updated 3/24/25 - I previously read this book and enjoyed it..the audiobook is equally as entertaining. The narrators did a fantastic job. They pulled all the emotions from me, as the listener. They gave the characters perfect emotion, personality and voice.

Highly recommend reading this book!

D. Liebhart delivers an amazing read that will stay with you, make you think and will grip you until the end. This story shows how our lives can be so intertwined with others…without us even realizing it.

I beta read this story…..It’s an amazing read filled with thought provoking scenarios that are very relevant to what we are facing in our country today.

As a parent, my heart hurt for some of the parents, I was angry towards others and surprised by others. It’s an emotional rollercoaster…sad, terrifying and will make you think “what if”.

one of my favorite books

read this book several months ago and I still think about it! it's definitely one of my top three favorite books I have ever read! I have never reread a book but I'm planning on doing so on my upcoming road trip to the Mayo clinic. have recommended/gifted this book to so many people. I'm really hoping the author writes another one soon!

Gorgeous writing

Three mothers have communication problems with their only children. One is dying and doesn’t want her adult son to know. One’s daughter seeks attention I’d destructive ways avoid her social issues. One discovers her son is an antisemite who may be planning something dangerous.

For the first quarter of FERAL CREATURES OF SUBURBIA (best title of the year), I struggled to embrace the story. Though fairly predictable, this novel still interested me.

D Liebhart’s gorgeous wordbuilding was my favorite part of FERAL CREATURES OF SUBURBIA. She could have written the most boring book (which she did not) and her writing would have jumped off the page.

While the mothers in the story were well-defined, were only privy to daughter Myra’s first person point of view. I would have liked to get inside Logan’s mind to see what made him tick.
