I come from a family of fighters. I always thought I'd follow in their shadows, becoming unstoppable in the ring. That changed the day I saved the life of a woman I loved, but could never have. My brother hailed me as a hero, and my reward was a wheelchair. Paralyzed, my life became an inescapable nightmare. Until I met her. Ash Mabie had a heart-stopping smile and a laugh that numbed the rage and resentment brewing inside of me. She showed me that even the darkest night still had stars, and it didn't matter one bit that you had to lie in the weeds to see them. I was a jaded asshole who fell for a girl with a knack for running away. I couldn't even walk but I would have spent a lifetime chasing her. Now, I'm on the ropes during the toughest battles of my life. Fighting the shadows of our past. Fighting to reclaim my future. Fighting for her.

This audiobook deals with a handicapped hero who is lovesick for his brother's wife and the awkward girl who has never really belonged or been loved by anyone. I enjoyed the story, the characters and loved the ending. Narration was well performed.

Good story!

The story was as good as the last ones. I'm still not impressed with the female narrator. I'm not sure what it is. The male narrator is great.

very good

Aly Martinez did not disappoint.. this book was sooo good. There were a few things I thought were a tad far fetched but over all this was such a good book. It made me laugh out loud and it made me cry with sweetness and sadness. I accidentally read the 3rd book first but I love this series so much I am going to listen to the 3rd one again just to put it all in order and because it is just so good.. this author has such a way of writing. Just when you think everything is tied up in a bow she gives you a twist which you could not have expected. Uggg just gushing with love for these characters in these 3 books 🥰.
Also the narrator continues to do a great job!!

I am so in love..

Ok, so let me start by saying I am a huge fan of Aly Martinez and this series. Flint and Ash are an amazing couple that I quickly fell in love with. Flint spends pretty much the whole book trying to make up for hurtful things he said to Ash early in their relationship. Which was great and I enjoyed their journey. The only reason I felt this book was good and not great was because the story fizzled out a little over 1/2 through the book. Then it was just a little boring. And the conflict or drama that takes place from there on is for other couples around them. But I’m sure I’ll read the last book in the series. I have to know what happens to all the Paige brothers.

Good but not great
