Thousands have been captivated by the spiritual themes that underlie Tolkien's imaginative fiction. In Finding God in The Hobbit, Jim Ware indulges listeners with an exploration of the spiritual significance of J. R. R. Tolkien's famous children's classic. As they are acquainted with Tolkien's message of transcendent truth, listeners will see how God is mysteriously at work even in everyday moments. A reflection summarizes each chapter's main insight.

This title is exactly what it says it is. Each chapter is a passage from the Hobbit, an analysis of what it means, Biblical parallels, and a summary. The narrator is very good, and the analysis and argument is good as well.

Jim Ware does an excellent job of capturing the spirit of Tolkien’s style in the Hobbit like none other I’ve read. I feel as though his writing draws me in the same way Tolkien does, which is an exceedingly high bar. Furthermore, Jim ties in the spiritual and scriptural importance of Tolkien’s masterpiece. And the narrator, Simon, is outstanding in his performance! His cadence and dramatic vignettes make this an entertaining work that I can listen to over and over again. Highly recommend!

Very well written and outstanding narration!

I personally dislike the constant Christianity references. As well as misquotes from the Christian bible. But that's common, with religious interpretations. For someone who's Christian, and wishes to link Christ to the hobbit I think it will be better. Which is why, it's not what I expected.
