I will just add to others' comments and list another set of chapters to "audible chapters" cross reference . Would really wish that Audible would create a very easy chapter title instead of the generic number . What's wrong with GEN 1, GEN 2, etc, EXO, LEV etc ?

Great Compilation, Lackluster Sound !uality

Where does The Word of Promise Complete Audio Bible: NKJV rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

By far the best dramatized audio bible released in recent years. Unfortunately the sound quality on audible pales in comparison to the actual disks.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

One thing I was really dissapointed in was the Psalms. The presentation of the Psalms in this recording is far too dark and serrious, making even psalms of praise and joy leave the listener with a disturbing impression. I'm not sure if it's available on audible, but the Faith Comes by Hearing dramatized NIV presentation of the psalms is much better, providing a full range of emotions rather than the somewhat self righteous and vindictive undertones prevalent throughout this presentation. Outside of the Psalms, I loved almost everything else.

Any additional comments?

This is an incredible deal, one credit for a few thousand pages worth of inspiration. The background music does get old after 90 hours but I do think it enhances the experience overall. Some would complain about the translation NKJV vs KJV vs NIV VS NLT etc. but just face it, no translation is perfect, even the originals aren't perfect, there are minor differences among the thousands of Greek and Hebrew manuscripts we translate from. The NKJV keeps the grace of the KJV while making the language more accessible to the modern listener, thus it was a good choice for this recording.

Audible! Please fix this!! (UPDATE 3/15/21)

UPDATE 3/15/2021: This has been FIXED! No only has it been fixed, but the names of the different books of the Bible have been made more accurate (e.g Genesis -> The First Book of Moses: Genesis) Thank you so much!!! This is the best audio version of the Bible and I'm very happy I can easily navigate it again. 100/10 stars

Old Review:

When I first purchased this audio book the chaptering was a complete mess. Then, I noticed in 2019 that audible had cleaned up the chapters and sections so that I could skip to specific book and chapter within that book (ex: Matthew Chapter 10)--which is fantastic and how it should have been in the first place.

HOWEVER! In the last few months I noticed that the chaptering was changed ONCE AGAIN. Now I can only see chapters for books (ex: Matthew). The audio book would even glitch out and not work on my android device because I had originally downloaded it with the old chaptering. I had to redownload this audiobook for it to even work again and then it also had the poor chaptering. Please change it back to how you had it last year! This is very irritating!

Now organized by book and chapter!

I bought this audiobook years ago. It is an excellent recording, both masterfully read and performed. I was frustrated however that the sections were split up into a few unmarked tracks. So if you wanted to listen to a specific book, or heaven forbid, a specific chapter, you had to know the exact minutes and seconds into the recording where that section was.

But no more! I decided to download this audiobook again just to change things up from what I was listening to, and boy was I pleasantly surprised that every part of the Bible is now properly organized and labeled. Yay!

I now, without question, recommend this recording, as the definitive experience of audio scripture.

My Favorite!!

I let it play on my phone all day, every day. I LOVE to listen and learn something new every day. I have been so immensely blessed by this audio Bible. It's the best one I've encountered. Reading is great but faith comes by hearing the Word of God. I cannot express how much it has transformed my life and relationship with God!
