"So much emotion it flew off the page and knocked the wind out of me. Finding Mercy was another great story by the absolutely brilliant Riley Edwards." (Jennifer Pierson: The Power of Three Readers)

DEA Agent Jason Walker became a widower at 28. Two years later he’s still torturing himself with guilt. They’d married young, and she’d been his first love, but her illness changed everything. They’d fought a losing battle and he’d held her to the very end. Now he just wants to be left alone with his misery and memories.

Mercy James is no stranger to grief and loneliness. Her brother’s death of a drug overdose, and her police officer father’s death in the line of duty were the driving forces behind her pursuit of a career in the DEA. In spite of—or maybe because of—her past, Mercy doesn’t believe in feeling sorry for others, or for herself.

When a case brings Jason and Mercy together, and their attraction heats up, can her tough, straightforwardness help Jason learn to live in the light again? He’d lost his first love, but is he ready for a forever love?

"Mercy, Mercy, Mercy you make me loose my mind."
Enough said...
Devon and Troy once again bring a stellar performance to the table. I dont know how they got through this one because I would have seriously been in tears the whole time.

Book 3 is a little different from the first 2 books. With Jason and Mercy being partners for the Narcotics Division, they learned how to work together. Jason treated her as an equal and I loved that. They both had some inner struggles that they had to deal with. Riley was able to take us through the pain Jason felt. From seeing how he thought he didn’t deserve to be happy. To him realizing that he his heart did in fact have room for love. The author also showed us the difficulties Mercy had with her self-confidence and trust. She had an inner struggle with things that she’d been told in her younger years.

Mercy…
When I was a kid my dad used to tell me that one day my lack of self-preservation was going to get me in trouble.

Jason…
It had been far too long since I’d laid eyes on her. There wasn’t a single thing I didn’t miss about her. Nothing in my life felt right without her in it.

Through it all, Ms Edwards showed us the strength it took for both characters to make it to the other side where there was a happily ever after waiting.

Troy and Devon did a wonderful job bringing Jason and Mercy to life. They were able to voice all of the emotions the characters went through so well. Troy did a phenomenal job with the side character’s voices. Devon did the same. She had to contend with the voices of a group of women. When I reflect back on the book, I feel very satisfied. Both author and narrators took me on a journey that I’m grateful to have traveled.

A little different…

Troy Duran is the best narrator. The female narrator was not so good. Story was good and the family is enjoyable.
