“Transformative.”—Greg McKeown, New York Times bestselling author of Essentialism and Effortless

Change your mindset from problem-focused (“yes, but”) to opportunistic (“yes, and”) using omdenken, the Dutch art of flip thinking—from the bestselling author and founder of the omdenken philosophy.

Imagine this: You’ve got a great idea, and all you hear are the yes-buts.

“Yes, but that’s been tried before, and it didn’t work.”
“Yes, but shouldn’t we just let it sit for a while?”
“Yes, but what if it doesn’t work?”

Published in English for the first time, this international bestseller introduces the power of omdenken—or flip thinking—to transform stuck-in-the-mud, pessimistic thought into an inventive, curious mindset, so you can stop saying “yes, but” to life, and start saying “yes, and.”

In this riveting book, Berthold Gunster presents fifteen strategies to transform your thoughts away from limitations and negativities and towards possibilities and opportunities. From disrupting (turn all the rules upside down) to flaunting (play up what you want to hide), from importing (get the enemy on board) to amplifying (do more of what works), Gunster’s strategies and stories will have you approaching even the most challenging problems—whether an annoying neighbor or an angry colleague or an unhappy partner—in a whole new way.

“Transformative . . . Flip Thinking beautifully illustrates how a person who can turn a negative into a positive can never be defeated.”—Greg McKeown, podcaster and New York Times bestselling author of Essentialism and Effortless

I enjoyed this book immensely! The stories told and examples given strike such clear understanding and obvious education on the benefits of flip thinking it’s hard not to want to use this training on every part of life. Break the rules, be mindful and more than anything create success in any endeavor by not limiting yourself or the situation to prior understanding.

This is my favorite book of the 2020’s. If you are like me and enjoy well researched, smart ideas that actually work in the real world - listen, read, and devour this masterful work.

Seriously, I’m real, and this is not a robot review. I’m a real 47 year father and husband that needed this book to outthink my failing marriage, horrible career, and the stresses of life. So far so good, I’m using several strategies in real time.

Love this book.

The author keeps saying ’with flip thinking’ as though it’s a revolutionary concept. Just look at both sides of a problem/issue etc and look for the positives.

Done…you’ve listened to this book

Don’t waste your time- ‘look at both sides of things’
