Great audiobook

I really enjoyed listening to this audiobook it is got a great storyline I really enjoyed how well written the story is the author did a great job with this story I really enjoyed listening to this book.

A Grieving Mother’s Strength

Julia is going through a lot. The disappearance of her daughter, Sounds behind closed off walls. This was a great psychological thriller that kept me guessing and holding my breath. It is a bit of a heartbreaking story, with secrets. An emotional journey.

Break From Reality Much?

I was looking for something different than what I had been listening to and boy did I find it in this suspense filled book!

How much heartbreak can a family endure? Specifically, how much can a mother take before others look at her differently?

Julia and Michael lose their eldest daughter Rose just after the birth of their twins Emily and Jack who are residents in the NICU at the time. The kidnapping of Rose left too many unanswered questions and an unsolved case.

Struggling with all the emotional overload of never finding her daughter, and arriving home ten years later to their house on fire sets Julia into an even deeper tail spin.

Moving into a new neighborhood not too far from their original home shouldn't add too much added pressure to the mental anguish they all are experiencing, but it only intensifies Julia's fragile grasp on reality.

Their new home and neighbors are about to ratchet up life to a whole new level.

Maddie the daughter of Susan and Richard presents Julia a hand drawn picture that triggers Julia down a path even darker than the one she's already on.

I never expected the storyline to unfold and conclude in the way it did. Did the author intentionally choose the name Jack for Julia and Michael's son as homage to Stephen King's character in the Shining, because this book certainly ranks up there with the chilling psychological thriller. FYI Emily and Jack are most normal characters outside of the detective.

Sarah Kuklis does an excellent job differentiating characters as the sole narrator. She engages you in and keeps you hooked.

Slow Burn with Powerful Twists

Forgotten is a gripping psychological thriller that builds tension steadily. The pacing works perfectly. The suspense simmers until it finally unravels with twists that genuinely caught me off guard.

The audiobook narration was clear, engaging, and easy to follow, which made it even easier to stay immersed in the story. The narrator did a great job conveying the emotional depth. Every moment of uncertainty, fear, and obsession felt real and impactful.

What I loved most was how the story keeps shifting your perception. Just when you think you understand what’s happening, another twist comes in and completely reframes everything. Each reveal felt intentional and hit with real impact.

If you enjoy psychological thrillers that focus on emotion, tension, and unexpected turns, this one is definitely worth the listen.
