First book, fantastic!

Editing my review. Maybe my standards aren't what everyone else's are... but I believe this storyline to be "different" than most. There aren't any plot holes, more plot twists! I do like the dance between the two main characters. Knowing there's attraction, and not giving in.... yet. The narrator is excellent! I could listen all day!

Cliffhanger

Really liked the characters and story. Great narration. But unhappy that there was not a real ending.

Darker magic

Something new and a little darker, has the beginnings of an epic adventure to start with and some unexpected dynamics of support characters

Turn the speed up

Very good book and extremely entertaining! If you have an issue with the narrator’s annunciation, just pop the speed up to 1.2x and it solves that problem. Slowed down it can be distracting.

Definitely recommend if you love a strong female lead and captivating plot.

Interesting story

Overall good story and interesting characters. While it doesn’t seem like a lot happens. What does happen is interesting enough to keep one’s attention. Will continue with the next book.
