Sadly, this is the conclusion (book 5) of a highly addictive dystopian series. I found myself yet again being forced to stay up until 2am to finish this book because I couldn't find a place to stop nor did I want to... I had to know how it all ended. There's simply enough action, adventure, spying, suspense, and clean romance to keep the story moving and the reader fully involved. The characters are relatable and mostly likable but you get to see them mature through the series. Claren started young and drove me a bit nuts early in the books around the love triangle with her altruism and lack of indecision, and it was magnified in book four. This final book is such a roller coaster and I don't want to spoil anything so I will keep this brief. Like many dystopians this is very much a "For the greater good" push to control society and it's a little extra erie with it being called "New America" with all the political issues and pushes for control going on today.
Parents: PG13 This is free of bad language or overly graphic violence, and there is romance (mainly kissing). I place it as being geared for middle school to adult readers.
The narrator does a fantastic job with the voices, overall acting, and she really fits Claren. She has a good pace and is simply fun to listen to.
