Love ain't simple. Loyalty ain't free. And the past? It never really stays buried.

Pleasure’s trying to walk away from the streets that built her—but the weight of old choices keeps pulling her back. Bull's rebuilding his empire brick by brick, but one wrong move could send it all crashing down. Holland swore she’d never look back, but life has a funny way of forcing you to face what you ran from. And Auto? He’s caught between who he was and who he's trying to become—with love and loss battling for space in his chest.

In this high-stakes sequel, trust is fragile, the blocks stay hot, and every heart is carrying secrets. Everybody’s trying to find peace. But in a city where pain runs deep and loyalty cuts even deeper, peace don’t come easy.

We all know that virtual voice is not the best, but the writing will always shine through. I’m getting used to what the VV is trying to communicate. Both of these books were excellent. Not overly mushy like other romance books and not super ghetto gangsta like other urban books lol
The right balance and I love this author for it!

Great story!

The virtual voice is always hard to adjust to, but when I could track, which character was being represented by the same voice. It wasn’t so bad.
Can anyone say THERAPY AND JESUS… but in this version two of the story I must say that Holland and Pleasure are so dang broken and messy that I just can’t like them very much. I do like the line from Bull how he wanted to show her “the other side of pain…peace” So since we can hopefully believe in redemption — Holland and Pleasure hopefully have some redemptive qualities deep down underneath all of that hurt and scarring and messiness, and it is what it is a ghetto fabulous book… they get to have love and healing. I wish the author has thorn in them going for therapy!!

Better than I thought
