Plot fades until it disappears

I expected this book to be fairly light and to transport me vicariously to Puerta Vallarta, which it did effectively. However, the adventure never made sense and I actually was surprised when the book ended because there was almost no resolution. I never attached to the main characters and found Danny particularly disappointing.
