When an EMP decimates the United States, Lori, a former Marine Raider, must embark on a treacherous journey with her daughter across the former United States from Pennsylvania to a rumored sanctuary in Washington State.

Captain Kate Holloway moved her family to New York to start over and break the barriers that her work had created. But when an EMP brings New York to its knees, Kate must fight to survive amid the terror descending upon the city and rescue her family.

The first two stories were good however the last story was so bad that I almost just quit listening. I don’t understand the insertion of curse words just to have them there. They made the story unbearable and unbelievable. Women just don’t curse that much and the words added nothing to the story. The last story was underdeveloped and the characters unbelievable. Narration did not help but I’m sure she did the best with what she was working with.

Sorry - I could not get through this book. It has several books included, The first book was just okay, very slow going and way too much details. Not believable that a dentist would have been a Marine recon person either. The second book was just bad. The EMP hits and the main character was not far from major airports and sees only one plane crash - there would have been hundreds of planes crashing. The dialogue in NYC was terrible - no one calls the people working on the trains Metro Workers - that is a term for Washington DC, they would be called Subway Workers. I couldn't get through this book and returned the title. Don't waste your credit.

Painful story and not believable
