My guess is that, given the rush, the author just gave a general idea of the story to some terribly cliche writer, who loves dogs way too much.
Don’t get me wrong, I love dogs, but one more mention of Sky and I would have smashed my phone.
Difficult to ruin such a good premise so terribly.
Spoiler alert:
- It was more predictable than Scooby-Do. As soon as you hear the posh British accent you know who the bad guy is.
- Terribly obvious open end, to try and sell another book.
-Logic for the bad guys makes no sense. Why are they hell-bent on destroying the world? This premise was never explain on book 2 either and just keeps ruining everything across the books.
- Tom (the oiler), or anyone in the world for that matter, would have never gone crazy like that and jumped on stage and opened the valve to that point…and then pull a gun a shoot a guy right on stage!!! What the hell….a 5-year old can come up with a more credible way to end that story-line.
The narrator could also pull back the drama…nobody speaks like that.
Wonder if the author went so big on Texas only because the narrator can do so many good Texas accents.
