At Tepeyac Hill, St. Juan Diego’s vision of flowers and music echoed an ancient Mesoamerican belief in “Flower World,” a heavenly paradise of music and blossoms. Drawing from recent archaeological findings, Joseph and Monique Gonzalez reveal how this belief laid the groundwork for the Guadalupe apparition. Discover how Our Lady’s appearance fulfilled centuries of longing, inspiring the greatest mass conversion in Christian history and showing how Christ is the true Flower World, the path to eternal life.

The book has interesting blend of history, theology, faith, and literary imagery to explore some cultural interactions. Multidisciplinary commentaries on poetic verse in indigenous language, Spanish, and English might be hard for some to get through but those who enjoy code-shifting between languages might appreciate those parts.

Unique lens on Meso-American history/Catholicism
