There are a lot of areas in my life where I strive for perfectionism and as I get older, I realize that I need to relax and start accepting some imperfections so I don't stress out as much. It's amazing how much self-imposed pressure we put on ourselves yet when you look around, no one else is putting that same pressure on you. This book is great about really defining what perfectionism looks like and debunking what we think perfectionism might be. I liked the chapter about cultivating a growth mindset. It moves beyond just theories and instead, the author gives you practical steps to help move you forward so that you can start to celebrate your small wins which turn into big wins.

Reviewing how society's perception of success is contributing to a rise in perfectionism was right on point. There are so many things that are in our faces all the time about how great others are doing how we should look what's popular, and what's not. It's everywhere even if you're not trying to look.

Learning to become comfortable with ourselves to remove the pressure is something I am working on each day. If you are someone like me who consistently pressures themselves and is also consistently disappointed, get this book.
