He sat behind me in Intergalactic High School, pulling on my braids with silver-tipped claws. Knocking my books to the ground and smoke-laughing at my dismay. He was always there, lurking around, scaring away all my possible dates.

And now, years later I’m all grown up and independent, about to start a new position on the Omega 9 space station and this arrogant, satanic-looking Hyrrokin shows up again in my life—this time demanding that I become his bound.

What kind of special hell is this?

And he’s kidnapped my father and threatens to ruin our family business unless I marry him?

I can’t marry my bully!

I…I can’t…right?

I enjoyed this story. There are moments of dismay and underhanded things, but the couple make there way through it and come out on the other side better than before. I think that the characters are classic and fun. The narration was good. Can’t wait for more.

Light reading/listening, but with plenty enough story to enjoy. This one has more subtle sexy times.
Possible Spoilers:
Human Cherise Monroe returns to Omega 9 station after completing college and internship on planet. She receives messages from her father that he needs help, and from her high school bully, Horace Brimstone, to see him immediately about her father. Over the story, we find out Horace intends to marry Cherise and has tracked her for years, watching over her so she can finish her education, and setting up his world to please her. We find out dad is a pathetic, narcissistic waste. Horace finds out he has an older brother, Prince, who is heir to their Hyrrokin Mafia father. Prince is still looking for his human mate that he scented. Dad just got remarried to a human who has a daughter. Cherise finds out her best friend Olivia is moving to Tarvos because her mother just married a Hyrrokin. So, we have the setup for the next book;-)
Zeller & Roeg do a great job with narration of these characters.

I really liked this story. Although there were descriptions of previous bullying and the resulting emotional trauma, it was entertaining and enjoyable. Horace made some really bad decisions and his treatment of Cherise was really wrong when he was a teenager. Cherise was forgiving and understanding even though she would have preferred that Horace made different decisions. His dedication to Cherise was wonderful. The way that he looked out for her was really sweet. I liked how the story ended. I recommend listening to or reading this book.

Forgiveness and truth lead to happiness

He’s stalked and manipulated her since high school, scaring away boys and leaving her without a prom date. He let her father gamble at his casino so he could buy her in exchange for debt forgiveness. He hacked her accounts, bought her the house decor she wishlisted, clothed her in items selected without her input, rigged her employment, and forced their marriage. But it’s okay because her body responds to him. Ugh. Even though this is campy and delivered with James.T.Kirk hyperbolic narration, I find her blithe acceptance of his toxic behavior unpalatable.

Also, the nooky is the same as all the previous couples. I regret going for the series, even on sale.
