I missed something I think

I just felt like I was missing the explanation for why the fmc couldn't just wait out the 7 months for her inheritance or at least explain to her parent that she wasn't getting married until after that and when she brought up the thing about the child and heir I was so confused because none of that could happen in 6 months...
