Very nice written book, not at all heavy as a book

This is a very good book for those interested in Russian history, particularly the very early years. Have enjoyed it a great deal.

Good book, fair narration.

An extremely valued masterpiece by an ace historian. His notice to detail is simply unusual, and this book is a must for anyone who wants to learn about the history of this once great nation.

Comprehensive History

Comprehensive overview of Russia's long history, written an engaging journalistic style. Good for Russian history novice like myself.

Keeps the listener interested and provides facts without being dry.I loaned it to my daughter. She also loved it.

It's mostly factual information. Any of the authors thoughts and opinions are purposefully easy to identify.
