Taiwan is not even recognized as an independent sovereign by every country in the world today.

Narrator lacked proper pronunciation

Great overview of the history of Taiwan however the narrator mispronounced so many words that it was very distracting. Qing dynasty, Chinese Hakka we’re just a couple examples of the many words he mispronounced over and over and over again.

in-depth knowledge

This is a great book about Taiwan history. The author has sharp observation and in-depth knowledge of the history of Taiwan. A valuable reference.

Highly recommend this book to someone looking at having an introduction to this subject and its key concepts. the book was very engaging and instructor definitely knows his subject matter well.

Narrator tried their best, but the history is accurate. Dude wasn't very interesting to listen to, and his mispronounciations were jarring.
