Loved it. Great story and heartfelt. I love all Catherine Hyde books! Can’t wait to start a new one.

Great story.

The story is good, not great, but good enough to keep me at it. However, the narrator drove me nuts. Overall sounded like a 3rd grade teacher reading a fairy tale. The story can get quite violent, lots of bullets and corpses and she kept on, placidly and with the rhythm and intonation a 3rd grader would need to comprehend it. I finally just gave up on it and went on to read the Kindle version. I guess Alexa would do a better job of reading it in all her AI glory. But the story is good, kept me reading (and yes, suspension of disbelief for little plot holes is slightly needed)

Oh dear lort, the narration

The only gripe. 4 Different stories not connected at all. Really enjoyed the books.

Fantastic story

Really didn't care for it. Way too wordy, Captain Obvious was clearly the editor. It was a bit painful to listen to.

Pedantic and verbose

I quit during chapter 45. Constant repeat of the same sentences like "my military training" about drove me nuts. Almost a whole 15 minutes about guilt for her dog that got hurt was agonizing to get through. The part that absolutely drove me nuts what's when she said she could tell the gun wasn't loaded by looking at it because of her military training. Huh? LOL.
days 1 and 2 were already chaos and society breaking down but 4 months later she was able to travel into the city, check on every employee and get back and nothing was chaotic. She even skipped the journey all together except a brief recap after it was over.
I just couldn't anymore. oh my!!

What the heck? lol
