When Matt McKelland comes home from war, exhausted and already suffering from post traumatic stress syndrome, to find that his wife has been seeing another man behind his back, a vicious sequence of events is unleashed that will lead to Matt's dishonorable discharge from the marines and a long struggle with alcohol and mental illness.

With the help of his social worker and a newfound friend, Shaun, Matt struggles back from the brink, only to risk stumbling again following Shaun's sudden, drug-related death. Instead, Matt finds revenge and, ultimately, redemption, by stepping outside the rules created by society....
