My latest case involves a string of murders by a wolf, but I keep getting distracted by my neighbor. I will resist his growly voice. I will not notice the way his muscles bulge. I don't have time for romance because I need to focus on my job, especially since the perpetrator is taunting me. The killer is asking for a showdown, and he's going to get it.

Things don't quite go as planned. Turns out the wolf was under my nose this entire time. By the time I discover the truth, it's too late. Too late to lament the fact I was played. Too late to regret what could have been, and when I foolishly walk into a trap, it will take a miracle to save me. But everyone knows the Brothers Grimm stories don't always have happily-ever-afters.

If only love truly could break the curse.

Fabulous twist on the brothers Grimm’s tales

When is the next one? I love the twist of this storyline. As well as how fast paste the story was woven.

Love this series

I love the concept and story line of this series. I listen to the entire series multiple times. I also love this authors Welcome to Hell series as well. Easy, fun listens that aren't too heavy on the heart.

Basic romantasy outline

Everything from the fairytales-come-to-life world to the character types were standard and barely fleshed. The single sex scene was perfunctory, short, and surprisingly tame from this author. I suppose the shorter format made this a breezy matinee listen. And I did like how it folded in the next two FMCs.

But I found myself missing the creativity, better dialogue, and sexier romance in some of this author’s other series. Finally, the narrator felt middle-aged vanilla and each of the FMCs were voiced the same.
