The next book in the perennially adored No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency series sees Precious Ramotswe calling upon all her maternal instincts when she's faced with a two-ton case.

They say it takes a village to raise a child, but can Mma. Ramotswe and the rest of the No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency come together to raise a pipsqueak pachyderm? We may find out in this novel. We may not. Who can say?

I have only just started listening, but am put off by the reader’s harsh and abrasive voice. What a disappointment.

Bad reader

Love the No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency books and have listened to every previous book and enjoyed the narration of Lissette Lecat.
The new narrator puts such strange and scratchy voices to the characters it is distracting and I find myself having difficulty following the story. The characters seem more harsh with this new voice and Mma Makutsi and Mma Ramotswe seem very old and hag-like. All of the voices are "off" in my opinion.
I am not sure I can finish this book, I may return it and get the print version.
Please bring back Lissette Lecat for the No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency narration,

The Narration is Distracting

As the series goes on, unfortunately the stories feel more formulaic. It was interesting enough, but did not draw me in like some earlier installments. The sudden switch of the narrator also completely changed the feel of the characters and setting. I liked her work on other books, such as The Girl with the Louding Voice, but I found her style much too abrasive for these characters and story, which I think should take a lighter touch.

Not a fan of the new narrator

I have always enjoyed the No.1 Ladies Detective Agency audiobooks.....but where has Lisette Lecat gone? The new reader, Adjoa Andoh, does well on some characters but her portrayal of Mma Makutsi, Mma Potokwani and Charlie is like cats screeching or nails on a chalk board. I don't know if I can make it through the entire audiobook. Such a disappointment.

Where is Lisette Lecat?

I am unable to comprehend the replacement of lisette lecat unless something happened to her. The annoying raspy voicing of some of the new characters makes the book unlistenable.
