The first book in an action-packed, witty LitRPG series about a regular giu given a farm to cultivate when the world told him he would never be a hero. But when he proves more resourceful than anyone expected, he draws the attention of some very dangerous monsters to his farm…

Nick was just your average overworked accountant…until he got isekai’d and then immediately rejected for “lacking hero potential.” Instead of a prophecy or a sword, he’s given a rundown farm in a cursed wasteland where seventeen previous owners died horribly. Lucky him.

But Nick isn’t as helpless as he looks. With mysterious strength, an eye for optimization, and a knack for flipping curses into perks, he starts rebuilding Blackthorn Farm from the ground up. What was once a death trap becomes a booming operation complete with monster livestock, magical crops, and an eclectic crew that includes a former elven slave turned manager, killer birds for security, and a shape-shifting dragon named Petunia.

As his power grows and the land begins to thrive, Nick draws attention from nobles, mages, and forces that might not be entirely mortal. Blackthorn Farm has secrets tied to a forgotten disaster, and Nick might be the only one who can uncover them…assuming he can survive the attention.

Good book, funny MC, good side character, good reader, overall a good time well worth the purchase.

P.s: there is some light NSFW content but it’s VARY light in comparison to wright’s other works

A cursed time…in a good way

the MC is a soulless number machine with no character depth. everything he does works. there is no development of the world. this is supposed to be witty or humorous but beyond the first chapter it doesn't exist.

the soulless summoning

Everything is handed to MC, pretty boring, emotions seem pretty fake, lack luster. Only redeeming point is I like the narrator.

Meh

The MC is never afraid after being summoned and dropped in a nest of monsters. The rules change to fit the narrative (auto vs. manual looting), and the numbers even contradict themselves (A does only 35 damage, but B is way more effective, doing 25 damage!). Every random thing the mc tries works on the first try.

In spite of every single solution being an obvious Deus ex machina, the book has enough improvement and numbers going up to keep me mildly entertained.

No verisimilitude

Very basic, this book had one of my biggest pet peeves with the hypocritical slave issue and the same elven/slave love interest…. Nothing new…. Luke is great!
