This title uses virtual voice narration

Virtual voice is computer-generated narration for audiobooks.

I never believed in UFOs—until I found one in my backyard…

Alex is just a normal guy who works at a computer repair shop and dreams away his life. That is, until one day, he literally stumbles across a hidden spaceship.

Together with his best friends, Joey and Lucy, he explores the vessel. They find the pilot dead, but the sentient ship AI is very much alive—and she needs their help.

The friends decide to embark on an adventure into the unknown.

Soon, they find themselves on a crazy ride through space, facing aliens, pirates, smugglers, and humorless space authorities…

Will Alex and his friends find their way home? And do they even want to?

A space adventure for fans of Backyard Starship and Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy!

Please note that this book is narrated by 'Virtual Voice". I did not notice it when selecting the book or I never would have picked it. I'm not interested in listening to a book in a monotone AI voice. I guess they didn't want to pay a real narrator. In addition, it's incredibly simple and might have been better if the author had his Thesaurus hidden. It reads like it was AI written as well as narrated. I've been a member for 25 years and this is one of the worst books I've ever picked. I only made it an hour or so into the 17 hours.

Rip off unless you love AI narrated books

Another fantastic entry from Stu Connors we tag along with our protagonists as they embark on a high stakes adventure to save the galaxy.

The main characters were far too simple and made decisions that no sane person would make. Science fiction requires the dispelling of reality, it should not require one to accept stupidity. I could not finish the story.

The “virtual voice” narration wasn’t the worst part.

I so wanted this book to be good. But after 1h55m I'm giving up. There where times the AI narration wasn't too bad, but again and again puts emphasis in a sentences is all wrong.
That's not the worst part though.
95% sure that the book i written by AI.
A lot of character reactions, timing, fillers and so on is way of. It just doesn't make sense.
So either AI written or the authors is happy go lucky and 8 years old.
If you write a book using AI prompts then at least read it yourself or get an editor
