This book introduced me to Internal Family Systems therapy in a way that made complete sense. Instead of treating OCD as the enemy, it teaches you to approach intrusive thoughts with compassion. The exercises were easy to follow, and I’ve already noticed a shift in how I respond to my obsessions.

I’ve tried many strategies for dealing with OCD, but nothing has felt as natural and healing as IFS. This book breaks it down beautifully, making it accessible for beginners. It’s refreshing to see an approach that focuses on working with your mind rather than against it.

The message and information are generally good, well written and important for anyone dealing with OCD who is looking for a more progressive and integrated way of the condition. Really disliked the section on Relationship OCD. It was written as if you have concerns, doubts, issues in or with your partner that it's just OCD sending incorrect signals Hello - some partners are checked out, cheating, lying, not there for you. That's not OCD, that's an unfortunate possible reality.
The audio is, in my opinion, horrible. Flat, robotic, and tone deaf. In particular is the total lack of natural tone shift when moving between the name of a new chapter or paragraph title and the content. It makes me think this is an AI rendering and it can't tell the difference- it's all just text. If this is deliberate, and again in my opinion, it was a rediculously bad creative and editorial decision.
