One is young, the other old.

With gifted tongues, both are bold.

One blood heals, the other slays.

One blood kneels, the other pays.

Both can speak with their mind.

Both shall seek, both shall find.

In this twisted Norse Mythos tale, young Vidarr Allefar begins his quest in service to the God of Justice. The d'oglemann turned martial arts Warrior for Tyrrell must venture through the perilous wilds and overcome the bigotry of humans to capture a murderer who is said to be aided by magic.

Along his journey, he discovers new talents, witnesses awe-inspiring wonders, and makes new friends. But the city is full of vipers and his mouth engages before his brain.

Can Vidarr capture the famed swordsman turned killer, or will his quest turn into tragedy? Not just for himself, but also for his kin and the Gods themselves.

Vidarr is an intricate, colorful, and twisted addition to the Norns weave.

What I like about this story is that a troglodyte is the main character. A commonly depicted evil creature. In D&D campaigns. I’ve grown to appreciate unlikely protagonists like Vidarr.

Rene Vecka has got me gassed to play my argonian character on Elder Scrolls Online now! LOL!

And funny thing, Duffy Weber’s voice for Vidarr sounds a lot like a very young David Tenant (Doctor Who), which I found amusing and entertaining. Now I want to see an animated feature with David Tenant voicing Vidarr.

This story reads well with Duffy narrating it. His accents are on point. Also, it’s actually scary how well Duffy does female voices 😳😅! His depiction of Ingefær in particular is hysterical! She sounds exactly how I imagined her sounding when I was reading the first few chapters before purchasing the audiobook.

It’s a fun read.

Even reptilian youths are impetuous LOL!

I loved this book and have started the second!!

Rene Vecka has a way with words and creating a new world!! The characters are well done and well developed! I read a lot of fantasy books, and I appreciate how clean the book was. I could have it on in the car in the front while my kid in the backseat listened to her own book without worrying about an explicit scene playing and her accidentally overhearing. It is funny and exciting, and I just thoroughly enjoyed it!

Captivating Fantasy!!
