The thrilling sequel to the book that Kirkus Reviews called “ingeniously plotted and vastly entertaining”, inspired by the classic board game Clue!

In the aftermath of Headmaster Boddy’s murder, Blackbrook Academy has been thrown into complete disarray. Half the student body hasn’t bothered to return to campus - but those who have include Orchid, Vaughn, Scarlett, Peacock, Plum, and Mustard, now warily referred to by the other students as the Murder Crew. When another staff member is found dead and an anonymous threat begins to target the group, each of the teens' opportunistic reasons for sticking around come to light. Orchid’s identity comes under question while Vaughn’s family life takes a turn; Finn and Mustard grow closer; and Scarlett and Beth struggle to turn over new leaves. All of this comes to a dramatic head at Tudor House, with a cliff-hanger that will leave listeners eager for the final installment in the series.

I loved it! All the characters were intriguing. It kept me guessing all the way through. I love Clue the movie and board game so I think this did the franchise well. The nod to Tim Curry was superb. I loved the setting, unique and creepy at the same time, just like Clue.

Nostalgia with well developed characters

The second Clue Mystery has lots of twists and turns and intrigue. This is a great continuation of the series with a big cliffhanger ending.

Great YA mystery

Parents- PG13- good for older middle school to adults
Language- PG13 some but not too heavy and no f-bombs
Violence- PG13- nothing too graphic
Sexual Content- PG13 heavier kissing in book 2 and teen romance variety, some innuendos, and LGBT romance/heavy kissing/make outs

I liked the first book much more than this one, there was a lot going on to keep track of, and then the romance between Mustard and Plum became a big focus and turned off my 13 yr old son, he stopped listening (no longer wanting to continue the series). We were just looking for fun mystery without any heavy romance. This is staged in a private boarding high school, with the game names/characters (Scarlett, Green, Peacock, Mr. Body, etc.). I would compare it more to the board game than the movie Clue. The character building has been great, you really like some of them and despise others. There’s plenty of twists and turns to keep the mystery going and unpredictable. This book ends pretty dramatically with a cliffhanger so be prepared to want to move on to the next book.

Narrator (4.5🌟) really did a wonderful job with the different voices, acting and overall narration was a lot of fun to listen to.

Fun Clue Style High School Romance

The first book was a solid murder mystery. This one was high school drama with a murder barely mentioned in the background. Hoping the final book returns to a mystery novel over high school drama.

Nowhere near as good as the first
