A murderer could be around every corner in this thrilling YA trilogy based on the board game CLUE!

When a storm strikes at Blackbrook Academy, an elite prep school nestled in the woods of Maine, a motley crew of students - including Beth “Peacock” Picach, Orchid McKee, Vaughn Green, Sam “Mustard” Maestor, Finn Plum, and Scarlet Mistry - are left stranded on campus with their headmaster. Hours later, his body is found in the conservatory and it’s very clear his death was no accident. With this group of students who are all hiding something, nothing is as it seems, and everyone has a motive for murder. Fans of the CLUE board game and cult classic film will delight in Diana Peterfreund’s modern reimagining of the brand, its characters, and the dark, magnificent old mansion with secrets hidden within its walls.

It really was a thriller and a perfect book if you love mysteries. I had to pick a book for a school project and this book didn’t fail of making me believe I was in the story.

Great story

It was a really good book and I would most definitely recommend it,but,I will say that before I found out who the murder was I had already had got a hint that it was mrs.white and the way that it says that she is the murder was kinda boring I thought it would have had more action.

Good book

This is the first book in the Clue Mystery series and was very well written with a great plot based on the wonderful Clue game. I really liked how the author tired everything together.

Great murder mystery based on old favorite

I am an avid admirer of the movie Clue and other movies and books like that (cozy mysteries). Although some may complain this sounds like a YA book, that would only be bcuz there is no sex, cussing, or graphic details about the murder; this book is great for all ages (I’m 51). It was so clever how the names were used and the personalities of the original movie and wow one of my absolute favorite lines from the movie was slipped in expertly, even if said by the wrong character, but it made me smile.
You won’t be disappointed, especially if you are a fan of this genre.
Enjoy!!!

Clever and Entertaining

This is a delightful tale especially for those who grew up loving to play Clue. Similar to fractured fairy tales, this plot is based on the process-of-elimination game strategy. Although I figured out the murderer and the motive very early on, the story was good enough to entertain me right through to the end. Game pieces and spoken lines enter the story smoothly and bring a smile. The narration was pretty good and consistent.

I had to dock it a star because I am still confused by Oliver's role and purpose, and the seeming minor cliff-hanger at the end.

Despite the blood, it's a cute story
