Listened to first 5 chapters and have to return the book. Maybe it is illuminating later, I don't think I have the patience to wait to be intrigued or enlightened. So far it's the supposed autobiography of a child who is too bright for her privileged family. (see Freud's paper on the The Family Romance). Alienation by IQ, ho hum. The voice of the reader is hard to accept. Its AI generated and technically very good, but emotionally barren. "And then I...and then I...and next I" is almost he narrative line, and the AI generated voice has a wide-eyed and unsatisfied juvenile tone that intensifies the boredom. I suppose I'll never know if the book improves.
