For 31 years a man who called himself BTK (Bind, Torture, Kill) terrorized the city of Wichita, Kansas, sexually assaulting and strangling a series of women, taunting the police with frequent communications, and bragging about his crimes to local newspapers and TV stations. After disappearing for nine years, he suddenly reappeared, complaining that no one was paying enough attention to him and claiming that he had committed other crimes for which he had not been given credit. When he was ultimately captured, BTK was shockingly revealed to be Dennis Rader, a 61-year-old married man with two children.

Terrible Narration

Narrator ruins this presentation. How can someone reading a book about the FBI not be able to pronounce Quantico?

Narrator made this almost impossible to listen to

Hearing the word Quantico mispronounced over and over and over is almost unbearable. I love John Douglas and am usually fully engrossed in his books but this Narrator make this one a miss. Imagining an expert like Douglas calling it "quan-tee-ko" just ruins the experience.

Say what?

Narrator cannot pronounce words. Where was the production staff to correct him? This was a tough listen.

Good Story Marred by Narration

I learned more details about BTK than I had heard before. The narrator’s frequent mispronunciations were a distraction-particularly the way he pronounced Quantico. You’d think someone doing this type of work would be more careful.

Not his best book, but still very good

I've now "read" about 5 or 6 of John Douglas's books, all of which have been fantastic. However, this was probably my least favorite of them all. Not that the story is bad or anything, but I guess it was different than I had anticipated. Hard to put my finger on it... It could be that the narrator was pretty awful though. His mispronunciation of NUMEROUS words got annoying I suppose. He also lacked emotion through most of his reading, which is unfortunate considering the subject matter. Regardless though, I would still recommend this book, but it definitely reads differently than his others.
