All he wanted was her blood...then her whole heart started coming with it.

Broke. That's what I was after my husband ran off with another woman. Not just my heart, either. My bank account took the hit, too. Thanks to the debt he left behind, I struggled to get by while I pieced my life back together. Until I'm made an offer I can't refuse.

Five million dollars, and all I have to give is five years of my life as a blood donor - to a vampire.

It was supposed to be a business transaction. He gets my blood; I get his money. Simple. Easy.

I should have known better.

I wasn't the only one broken. Except, the truth was, with him around...I didn't feel broken anymore. When the truth comes to life, when there are more than just two options, we both have a choice to make. He can either join me in the light, or I can embrace the darkness.

Into the Light is the first book in the Immortal Hearts series. While each book in this vampire romance series has its own story arc and no cliffhanger, they feature reoccurring characters in a continued storyline so they are best listened to in order.

started out well however when continued reading it just lost something along the way. it had my full attention, then i became bored and just wanted the ending. i thought this was a nice twist on typical vampire human romance.

the lack of depth in the characters and story pace just isnt something im into. the decisons of the characters were fast and decisive. eventually it came off as immature or going down a "rabbit hole"

The story was good (not great, but good), and the male narrator was fine (nothing particularly special, but nothing particularly bad either) but the female narrator sounded like AI or amazon alexa or something. I could have saved the cost of the audiobook and just had alexa read the book to me for free and gotten the same experience. I wanted to continue the series but I'm not sure I can make myself listen to her robotic voice anymore. Maybe I will come back to it after I listen to a few books with better narrators, maybe not.
