Vinzel's home planet of Rhouge has been stricken with a virus, killing off all the women of his species. Now he's tasked with the impossible: find a human woman to mate with, conceive a child, and bring them both back to Rhouge to see if they'll survive in his planet's conditions. It sounds difficult enough, but he's surprised to discover that he's actually falling in love with the beautiful woman he's selected.

Erin is 29 years old and struggling to meet deadlines as a freelance writer. Her lack of self-confidence is a huge hindrance. When she meets the handsome Vinzel, his blatant adoration makes her think maybe she's more special than she thought.

Their relationship is based on a lie, though - once Erin discovers it, can she and Vinzel find happiness once again?
