Everyone thinks they know what a Black man is. Without considering how the world affects his development. A probing look into this topic such insights !! And very readable!

Unabashed introspection

I really appreciated how honest Mychal was in this telling of his formative years (up through college). He recognizes his own bigotry and patriarchy and challenges it. All while being unafraid to challenge the statis quo brought by politicians like Obama.

When I purchased the book I had no idea how deep each chapter would take me as I read! I didn't know who Mychal Denzel Smith was but now I do!
