In the time of outlaws and bounty hunters, an unlikely hero is thrown into a love triangle no one expected.

When a doctor and bounty hunter feel a magnetic pull toward one another, both fight the desire building inside them, pushing their feelings deep inside.

A gang boss becomes even more obsessed with the beautiful woman; she struggles with the past that haunts her and tries to protect those she loves in the present. The love triangles dreams start to intertwine as reality becomes skewed when passions grow.

Iris sees the storm before her that carries the burdens that weighs her down. All she can do is weather through the turbulence of life.

I enjoyed the story, but the narration... I felt like I was being constantly yelled at, to the point of occasionally wiping my face to clear the imagined spittle.

Iris is a strong, independent lead character with a job to complete, but she needs to clean her own house better.

Overly melodramatic narration - Strong female lead

I was so excited to listen to this book it sounded great and listening to the sample I thought the narration was going to be easy to listen to. I was sad to find out that at points the narrator was just not suited for this book and at points it was just too much to listen to. I kept going back but never felt like the narration did justice for the story or its characters.

What a great female lead. If I didn’t know that woman really worked for the Pinkerton agency in the late 19th century I don’t think I would’ve read this book. Since it was consistent with history I read on and was so glad I did. Not only is Iris feisty she’s been through it before and knows all the right things to say not that she likes talking to people or people in general, but when she meets the doctor see you speechless. After he comes to the rescue in the bar when they are dying to burn her at the state for being a witch he didn’t have to help her when she gets injured is when he becomes hands on helping her get better that is. Will Iris decide to settle down with the doctor even like her? These are all great questions and I’ll answer in this book. I love the iris she’s so freaking awesome! I recommend this to anyone who likes me a lot of broad books wow West romances and even yes regular historical romances. There’s something in here for the romance thing that most books in this genre don’t offer and it’s a legitimate independent 19 century Victorian woman. A lot of romance books have a implausible female leads that is not the case in this book and it made me love it so much more.

Love it!

Iris was a black ops operator before that was ‘a thing’. In the days of horses, stage coaches and rustlers, Iris is an assassin/bounty hunter for an unknown government agency. Being one of the deadliest assassins comes with a price...Iris suffers with guilt and depression for each soul that she’s forced to take. Then she meets Garrett, a small town doctor, and the chemistry and spiritual connection that they share is like none other. With a crazed, obsessed madman after her, and threatening those that she loves, Iris must leave them behind. Will Iris and Garrett find their way back to each other before the darkness takes over Iris’s soul?
