Something lurks in the darkness of the trees. A group of friends goes on a hike in search of an ancient spring deep inside the forest. Mythical stories come from the woods—tales of gnomes, fairies, and other not so benevolent creatures. Everything changes for the group when they run into a hiker that mysteriously vanished in the area weeks ago. She is malnourished, dehydrated, and hurt, but she keeps raving about the danger in the woods, repeating one incoherent word over and over in a foreign language.

By the time they turn back the way they came, it's too late. There's something ancient in these woods. Something far more dangerous than fairies and gnomes. And it's after them....

Great listening

This held my attention, it makes the woodsa little scarier. I'm not into short stories, but this was worth it

Group of young people in the woods with something evil….

I was looking for a creature feature- a lost in the woods with a monster type horror story. This was an interesting version of the familiar story of a group of young folks stalked in the woods.

stay out of those woods!

this is a great horror! great storyline, very imaginative, great characters, so well written, very well performed, and the ending is not what you would expect it to be. I really enjoyed this one, and I think all horror fans would enjoy it too.

Couldn't think of anything better than sexual deviance?

honestly what did it add to the book not much in my opinion. we already knew he was a psychopath.
