Cue Immediate Relisten

I finished this audiobook and just sat there for a minute with a sweet smile on my face. Overall: five stars because it made me feel everything without ever feeling heavy. Watching Mike slowly understand what had been right in front of him while knowing how long Dennis had already loved him made every shift in their dynamic feel bigger and honestly wrecked me a little. Performance: this was my first Harley Chase narration and now I absolutely want to see what else he’s in, his delivery and subtle voice shifts were so clear I always knew who was speaking and more than once forgot it wasn’t dual narration. The authors created them, but he gave them voices that felt completely their own, and the second it ended I genuinely considered starting it over. Story: I didn’t just listen to it, I got emotionally invested, and now my brain keeps replaying moments when I’m supposed to be doing other things.

Thank you for the audiobook, here is my honest opinion:
I loved the book version of Mike and Dennis’s story, and the audiobook was just as good! I love best friend’s brother romances and this one is excellent. The narrator does an amazing job delivering authentic emotion throughout the performance making this an absorbing listen. One of my favorite aspects of the book is the supportive families, moms can be rough in this genre- but not here. Their grief over losing Mike’s dad was all consuming but I loved that Mike’s mom had a chance to jump in and play hero for her son. I loved it a bunch, it had the perfect mix of romance, steam, and heart!

This was such a cute small town mm romance. I did the audio and the book at the same time. Harley Chase did such a good job narrating. The pinning in this book is so unreal! I loved it. They yearned for one another for so many years. I love that they didn’t turn away from each other over the years no matter what happened. They were the best of friends for so long they deserved to be loved and to be happy together.
Dennis is so funny giving golden retriever vibes and Mike is just quiet and to himself. I love a book with hurt / comfort in it and this had the best hurt / comfort!! Easily 5 stars!
I cannot wait for Wes’s story! I already know it’s going to be so good!

In awe

I had already read this book and it became a comfort read for me.

That being said I figured it would be safe to start the audiobook on my lunch break.
…but I was wrong. I forgot the beginning started with bigger emotions and grief. I nearly started balling my eyes out. Normally I could read this and be fine. But hearing Harley narrate did me in. I had to stop since I didn’t need people wondering why I was crying when I got back to work. (I’m only upset that I had to wait a few more hours to get home to start listening to it again).

The moment I got home, you better believe I started to listen again and just let myself feel. I became immersed in this story and enjoyed every minute of it.

Harley brought so much to this narration. I don’t know how to explain how much of an experience listening to this book was. Harley narrates it, I’m going to listen. But this was a new level. I’m in awe.

I didn’t know how much more depth Mike and Dennis could have. The pining and slow burn…ughhhh agonizingly beautiful.

Honestly everything about this audiobook was fantastic!!!

I love Dennis and Mike’s story even more than I did before 🥹

A Perfect Light Read!

It will never cease to amaze me how amazing Harley Chase is as a narrator. I have loved every single audio that he has done for Courtney. This was perfect!

Reading this was like a breath of fresh air. This was one of the sweetest, most heartwarming books I have read in a long time! I absolutely adored Dennis & Mike. These friends to lovers, coming of age stories hold a special place in my heart and this one definitely lived up to the hype I gave it in my head. It’s Only Love is one of those feel good stories for me and definitely one that I would consider a comfort read of mine now. I usually always read the angsty, heart-wrenching books so this was definitely a nice change of pace for me since it was very low angst. I would love to see more of this world and maybe get to see a story for Wes in the future! This book was perfect and beautifully written and like always, I would recommend it for sure as a light summer read!!
