Great story character work and worldbuilding by Fonda Lee. Can't wait for book 3 this year

Absolute Banger

Believable Asia, _characters_, drugs, gays, gangsters, love, magic, peace, politics, and war: this book has it all and it absolutely slaps. It carries on all the energy and promise of book one with all the characters you still deeply care about while bringing in still more who are just as real.

I can't wait to see how the survivors do in book three.

excellent second book

Lee's character writing balances well with her plotting. even the telegraphed beats to anyone familiar with strong narrative progression leave you guessing as to how something may twist from lucky to unlucky, good to bad, etc

i have no idea to feel about this.

I hate every character in this book, however, I just cannot get enough of this story.

pulls you in

Different from most that I read the overall need to justify evil; to disguise it with family, love, & religion. I'm in this series whole heartedly
